Mark Fitzpatrick is a singer/songwriter who lives in Toronto, Canada. Mark began a career in music in Ireland in his late teens when he could afford his first guitar. He co-founded and played lead guitar in a rock band called Crypt which enjoyed success playing all over Ireland for a number of years.
Mark came to Canada in 1970 and put aside his musical aspirations to focus on raising family. After a successful career in the corporate world, he took early retirement and went back to his first love, music.
Over the ensuing years, he has written, performed and recorded his own music. In 2015, Mark recorded his first CD of ten songs, The Scrap Heap with Grammy and Juno Award-winning producer Chris Birkett. He spent time promoting his CD with producer Chris. The CD was played regularly on the radio in Ireland when it was released and still enjoys radio-play today.
Mark is a member of SOCAN, NASI, CMAO and SAC. He has participated in Song Studio in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018 in Toronto and in Spring Break in Nashville where he has an opportunity to enhance / improve his songwriting skills. He also completed a year long intensive sound engineering course with Number 9 recording studio in Toronto.
Mark enjoys music from country to rock to blues. He is influenced by The Beatles, Kris Kristofferson, The Eagles, Neil Young and Eric Clapton.
Mark performs his own music in Toronto area songwriting forums and enjoys singing at open mics here and in Florida. He also has a repertoire of covers of ‘oldies’ that he performs at long-term care facilities for its residents under a new venture called ‘Memory Lane Music’.
